Hans Joachim Watsk
Hans Joachimwatsk was born on June 21, 1959 in the state of North Wales, Germany. Previously, he was the founder of a protective clothing company in the suburbs of Dortmund and was a shrewd and outstanding entrepreneur. In 2001, he served as the financial manager of Dortmund, and in February 2005, he was elected as the chairman and CEO of Dortmund's listed company as an executive director, starting to oversee the daily affairs of the club. Since taking office, Watsk, along with Chief Financial Officer Thomas Torres and others, have worked tirelessly to help Dortmund resolve the financial crisis with a shrewd and rational entrepreneurial mindset. This adorable leader, known as the father of debt repayment, has continued to invest in the club's infrastructure, improving and expanding the scouting system. In 2008, he also hired Mainz's beloved Yurgen Klopp as the head coach of the first team. After five or six years of life and death trials and ups and downs, the club has entered a period of stable development. Looking back on the past five or six years, it is not too much to say that Watsk was Dortmund's first hero in overcoming the financial crisis and winning the 2011 Bundesliga championship. At the beginning of 2010, Watsk completed the contract renewal and stepped down in 2014.
