Andrew S. Fastow

Despite today's more standardized and civilized business environment, we are constantly witnessing Enron style corporate governance failures. Enron's former Chief Financial Officer will analyze how the ambiguity and complexity of laws and regulations provide opportunities for flawed decisions, and discuss what questions company directors, managers, lawyers, and accountants should ask to ensure that their company not only adheres to relevant rules but also adheres to its own principles. From 1998 to 2001, Fastow served as the Chief Financial Officer of Enron Corporation. He currently resides with his family in Houston, Texas. Fastow currently works at a law firm providing litigation support and consulting services to directors, lawyers, and hedge fund companies on how to identify potential important financial, accounting, compensation, and cultural issues. Fasto holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Chinese from Tufts University and a Master's degree in Finance from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in the United States. Prior to joining Enron, he was a senior executive at the North American Continental Bank Asset Securitization Group. Fasto has been a guest speaker at various universities and companies, as well as at conferences related to management, corporate directors, lawyers, accountants, and registered fraud examiners. Fastow has recently served as a guest speaker at the United Nations Conference on Principles of Responsible Management Education, the FBI Senior Financial Crime Seminar, the Certified Fraud Examiners Association Annual Meeting, the American Accounting Association Annual Meeting, and the Financial Times Outstanding Board Meeting.
