Narayana Murti

Narayanamurti is an Indian industrialist and software engineer. He is the founder of Infosys, a software consulting company headquartered in Bangalore, India. In 1981, he founded Infosys and served as the company's CEO from 1981 to 2002. From 1981 to 2011, he served as the chairman and chief mentor. Under his leadership, Infosys was listed on NASDAQ in 1999 and currently serves as the honorary chairman of the company. The Global Delivery Model, which Murty clearly proposed, designed, and implemented, has pioneered the successful operation of IT service outsourcing in India. He has led major corporate governance initiatives in India and is an information technology consultant for multiple Asian countries. He currently serves on the boards of HSBC, Ford Foundation, Rhodes Trust, Indian Business School, and the United Nations Foundation. From 2007 to 2010, he was a member of the Unilever Board of Directors; From 2002 to 2012, he served as the Chairman of the Bangalore International School of Information Technology, and from 2002 to 2007, he served as the Chairman of the Indian School of Management.
