Venkatraman Ramakrishnan(born 1952) is a British-Americanstructural biologist. He shared the 2009Nobel Prize in ChemistrywithThomas A. SteitzandAda Yonathfor research on the structure and function ofribosomes. Since 1999, he has worked as a group leader at theMedical Research Council(MRC)Laboratory of Molecular Biology(LMB) on theCambridge Biomedical Campus, UK and is a Fellow ofTrinity College, Cambridge.He served asPresident of the Royal Societyfrom 2015 to 2020.
