Robert Sanderson MullikenForMemRS(June 7, 1896 – October 31, 1986) was an Americanphysical chemist, primarily responsible for the early development ofmolecular orbital theory, i.e. the elaboration of themolecular orbitalmethod of computing the structure ofmolecules.
