Fritz Pregl(Slovene:Friderik Pregl; 3 September 1869 – 13 December 1930), was a Slovenian-Austrianchemistandphysicianfrom a mixedSlovene-German-speaking background. He won theNobel Prize in Chemistryin 1923 for making important contributions toquantitativeorganicmicroanalysis, one of which was the improvement of thecombustion traintechnique forelemental analysis.
