Frankie de Tori was born on December 15, 1970, an MBE recipient and an Italian British jockey. Dai Tori has won the championship jockey three times and participated in more than 500 group races. His most celebratory achievement was on the day of the 1996 Royal Ascot Jockey Club Championship Day in the UK, where he was the jockey of all winning races. His father is Sardinian jockey Gianfranco de Tori, who has won numerous awards in Italy. Lester Piggott rated Frankie Detorius as the best active jockey. Dai Tori was born in Milan and made his first contact with horses at the age of 12. At the age of 13, he left school to become a horseman and apprentice jockey. In 1985, he went to Newmark, England to follow trainer Luca Cumani, an Italian apprentice, and soon became a regular jockey. In 1990, Dai Tori became the first young jockey after Leicester Pigot to win 100 races in a season. In November 1986, at the age of 16, he achieved his first victory in Turin, Italy. In June of the following year, he won again in the UK, and success followed. On September 28, 1996, he achieved an excellent record of seven wins in a day at Ascot Racecourse. At the end of 2012, Dai Tori became a freelance jockey, having previously worked as a regular jockey for the Godolphin Racing and won multiple major races. In 2012, he was suspended from work for six months, during which time he participated in the 11th episode of Celebrity Big Brother on British television reality show. After his suspension, he returned to the racetrack on May 31, 2013 at Epsom in Epsom. A week later, he won the first Asian merchant horse race in Sandown. On December 11, 2015, Frankie Detorius won the title of 2015 Global Best Jockey at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center. By the end of the 2017 season, he had won over 3000 victories in Great Britain, 750 more than the next active player.
