David Miliband, Chairman of the International Rescue Committee and former British Foreign Secretary, is the youngest British Foreign Secretary in 30 years. A star within the Labour Party who is both on both sides. He is an energetic and modern intellectual, known as a born internationalist. David graduated with honors from Oxford University with a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics, and a Master's degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In 2013, he resigned from his position as a member of parliament. David Miliband has been the Chairman and CEO of the International Relief Association, also known as IRA, a renowned humanitarian organization since September 2013. The committee is headquartered in New York and was established in 1933 at the request of scientist Einstein. David leads the organization with over 12000 employees. The International Rescue Committee plays an important role in disaster prevention, post-disaster reconstruction, and disaster relief efforts worldwide. The organization has strong international influence and financial strength, providing medical and health assistance, infrastructure construction, education, and economic support to over 40 countries worldwide, and providing special assistance projects for women and children. Every year, the International Rescue Committee resettles thousands of refugees in 22 cities in the United States. David served as the UK Foreign Secretary from 2007 to 2010, and at the age of 41, he became the youngest Foreign Secretary in the UK in 30 years. He is responsible for overseeing 16000 diplomats in over 160 countries worldwide. He established a unique and respected internationalist voice for Britain, from the Afghanistan war to Iran's nuclear program stance to friendly dialogue with emerging powers. David gained widespread support from the European Union for his outstanding European foreign policy stance and was appointed as the EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs. However, he refused to take on a new position and chose to continue in the UK. David is a leader in modern thinking. From 1994 to 2001, he was one of the main think tanks for policy-making in Blair's New Labour Party. After Blair was elected Prime Minister, he became the head of his think tank. From 2002 to 2004, he served as the Minister of Schools and made outstanding contributions to the reform of the education system in the UK. When he became the Minister of the Environment, he created the world's first legally effective emission reduction bill. When he served as the Minister of Societies and Local Government, he promoted the revival of historic cities in England. The reform movement initiated by David trained 10000 British community organizers to change their communities. He also served as the Vice President of Sunderland Football Club until 2013. He regularly gives lectures at MIT and participates in a series of seminars with former US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice at Stanford University to explore geopolitical issues. He also co chairs the Global Oceans Commission with former Costa Rican President Jos \u00e9 Maria Figueres Olsen, established by multinational political organizations to protect the high seas around the world.
