Ian Golding is a former dean of Martin College at Oxford University from 2006 to 2016. Golding is also a professor in the field of globalization, as well as a professor's research institute at Beryl College, Oxford University. In addition, he is renowned worldwide in macroeconomics and international economics. The task of Martin College at Oxford University is to cultivate innovative thinking to address the most pressing challenges of the 21st century. The college is composed of 40 interdisciplinary research teams from various academic colleges of Oxford University, including cutting-edge scholars in physics, medicine, biological sciences, climate change, environmental sciences, social sciences, and humanities. Under Golding's leadership, the college has become a leading global research center and applied policy analysis research center for key challenges in the 21st century. Prior to this position, Golding served as Vice Chairman of the World Bank and Head of Development Policy at the World Bank. From 1996 to 2001, Golding served as President Mandela, serving as the CEO and General Manager of the Southern African Development Bank. During his tenure, he successfully transformed the Southern African Development Bank into a leading agent for the development of 14 countries in southern Africa; During this period, he served several other government agencies and boards, and served as the Chief Financial Officer during South Africa's bid for the Olympics. Previously, Golding served as Chief Economist at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and Project Director at the OECD Development Center of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development in Paris.
