He is a renowned representative of the Employment and Growth Theory, a Nobel laureate in economics in 2006. He is currently a professor of political economics at Columbia University in the United States and the dean of the Xinhua Business School at Minjiang University. He has served as an academician of the American Academy of Sciences, a member of the New York Academy of Sciences, a vice president of the American Economic Association, a senior advisor to the Brookings Committee on Economic Affairs, an expert in academic meetings at the Federal Reserve, an advisor to the Financial Committee of the US Treasury and Senate, and an editorial board member of the US Economic Review. Known as the founder of modern macroeconomics and one of the most important figures in influencing the process of economics. In 2006, he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Economics for his research achievements in the field of macroeconomic intertemporal decision-making trade-offs.
