Dr. Bimozaran is a former Governor of the Reserve Bank of India. He has held multiple positions in the government, including the Minister of Finance and the Chairman of the Prime Minister's Economic Advisory Committee. From 2003 to 2009, he was also nominated as a member of parliament. He served as the Chairman of the Expenditure Management Committee in 2014-16. He also represented India on the boards of directors of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank. Bimozaran is associated with some academic and public institutions, including the Kolkata Institute of Statistics in India; Delhi Institute for Economic Growth; Development Research Center; Chairman of the National Committee for Applied Economics and Research in New Delhi. His works on India include: India's Economic Crisis: The Road to the Future 1991, India's Economic Policy: Preparing for the 21st Century 1996, India's Economy in the New Millennium 2002, India's Future: Politics, Economy, and Governance 2005, Indian Politics: Backseat Perspectives 2007, Emerging India: Economy, Politics, and Reform 2012, Politics Over Economy: The Economic and Political Interface of Contemporary India 2014. His two early publications included issues in small economies and policies and development policies.
