George Robertson is a former Secretary General of NATO, former Secretary of Defense of the UK, and Vice Chairman of TNK - BP. Russia's oil and gas company is jointly owned by BP and Slavic Oil as Vice Chairman. He is also the International Chairman of the Da Dong Telegraph Bureau. George Robertson was born on April 12, 1946 in Port Ellen, Scotland. I have studied at Andrews University, Queens College, and Dundee University. Received a Master's degree in Economics. In 1978, he was elected as a member of Parliament for Hamilton's Lanark constituency. In 1979, he was appointed as the Director of the Social Services Bureau of the Private Secretary of Parliament. From 1979 to 1993, he served as the chairman of the senior opposition party, responsible for foreign affairs, especially European affairs. In 1993, he was elected as a spokesperson for the opposition party in the advisory group, responsible for Scottish affairs. After the 1997 election, he was appointed as Minister of Defense by Prime Minister Blair, responsible for conducting strategic defense reviews and leading military operations in Kosovo in 1998 and Iraq in 1999. In October 1999, he was appointed as the 10th NATO Secretary General and later promoted to the House of Lords. During his tenure at NATO, several major events occurred, including the United States' 9\/11, the first implementation of Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty, the Macedonian crisis, and the establishment of the NATO\/Russia Council. In 2002, he presided over the NATO Prague Summit, which saw seven new countries join NATO. George is a non-executive director of Will Group and Smith Group, a strategic advisor to Royal Bank of Canada in Europe, a non-executive director of Advisory Committee Englefield Capital, and a senior barrister of Cohen Group in the United States. He is the co chairman of institutional affairs at the Royal College, a tough Scottish who led NATO through the painful period of the post Cold War and post 9\/11.
