When Schaff was appointed as the Director General of the Danish Security and Intelligence Agency, he was only 40 years old and was the youngest person to hold this position. Shortly after joining the intelligence agency, he experienced a manga crisis. A manga about the Prophet Muhammad was published in a Danish newspaper, and Denmark became the primary target of Al Qaeda and its affiliated terrorist organizations and networks. The threat of terrorism has become very serious and poses a serious threat to Denmark's national security. Faced with the threat of terrorism, the Danish Security and Intelligence Agency DSIS has made significant adjustments in its capabilities and strategies, and since 2007, it has successfully identified, prevented, and combated many specific activities that threaten Denmark and its international interests. Implementing a new legal framework, establishing public-private partnerships, and ensuring greater openness and transparency in external communication have become important elements of the reform of the Danish Security and Intelligence Agency (DSIS). Today, the Danish Intelligence Agency is recognized as one of the best in its class. During his tenure as the Director General of the Danish Intelligence Agency, he has been engaged in public speaking activities and continuously interviewed by the media. After resigning from the position, he now has more opportunities to share his experience around the world. Currently, he works as a consultant at the Danish Ministry of Justice and is also an executive director of CERTA Intelligence and Security, a non listed public limited liability company in Denmark that conducts intelligence, analysis, and security work. It was established in 2014 and is headquartered in Copenhagen.
